Bay Area Expansion
2015-11-04 • Project Walk Walnut Creek
Project Walk is excited to announce the opening of its two newest locations in Walnut Creek, CA and in San Jose, CA on November 9, 2015, both inside The Forma Gym, a chain of premier athletic clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Through the increased geographical presence associated with this expansion, any person living in the San Francisco Bay and San Jose areas will have reasonable proximity to a Project Walk facility. Project Walk is thrilled with the possibilities its partnership with The Forma Gym can present as clients will now have access to start-of-the-art facilities.

The Forma Gym is regarded as one of the premier health clubs in the Bay Area that is devoted to making a difference in the lives of people in their community. Each location will include some of the standard Project Walk equipment along with features and amenities that only a health club can offer such as heated pools, free weight and strength training machines, locker rooms, fitness studios and even daycare options. The Forma Gym will be offering access to its facilities, discounts and other perks to Project Walk clients and their families as an added welcome.

“Our goal has always been to service all Bay Area individuals, from North Bay to the South Bay. With the expansion to two locations, we can eliminate longer commutes while capitalizing on a partnership with The Forma Gym who also shares our passion to help the disability community,” says Chief Operating Officer, Brian Malkinson. “We feel incredibly fortunate to have found a home for Project Walk at The Forma Gym.” In addition to gaining daily access and support from this amazing organization, The Forma Gym has also agreed to highlight Project Walk in its own fundraising efforts.

Forma Gym Owner, Robert Jackson says, “When Project Walk approached us with the opportunity to collaborate with them, we jumped at the chance. We have always envisioned our gym serving people of all demographics and what Project Walk is doing with the disability community is inspiring. We have seen firsthand the improvements Project Walk makes with their clients and we couldn’t be more excited to share the like-minded vision and goal of helping our communities.”

“The Forma Gym was a perfect fit for Project Walk because not only do they employ a top-notch staff and have outstanding facilities, they are also very serious about giving back to their community,” says Project Walk CEO, Tim Yates. “We are looking forward to working closely with The Forma Gym and all their members to raise awareness and funds for scholarships for those living with a disability in the Bay Area.”

Project Walk is the most advanced activity-based paralysis recovery program in the world. Clients can begin the program as soon as they leave the hospital and can continue full-time at a center or at home through the most comprehensive integrated home care model on the market today. The Project Walk Method®, available only at Project Walk centers, is supported by published research that shows 71% of clients improve function below the level of injury after participating in our treatment program.
